I'm Emma, a jeweller, designer and maker from Glasgow, Scotland. I graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2019 and I now exhibit and sell my jewellery. Find out more about my past and upcoming events in my CV section.
My work comes from a playful and tactile approach to thinking and making, I draw inspiration from children's playground climbing frames, theme parks and children's squishy play toys such as balloons. From My playful inspiration I create playful designs that make the viewer/wearer want to touch and interact with the pieces. My work is created by hand through intricate soldering and tactile making.
Colour is important in my jewellery pieces. I draw on childlike primary colours and play with softening these colours in my work. My main process of adding colour is through powdercoating. Powdercoating mimics the finish of theme park rollecoasters and playpark structures. I also work in many other materials such as brass, silver, gold and mixedmmedia.
